The Library of Virginia recognizes the important role that public library trustees play in the development and improvement of library service in the commonwealth. The trustee e-learning modules are designed to give boards of trustees concise information in their various areas of responsibility. They are intended to serve as a resource and guide to helping all trustees carry out their duties responsibly.

Create an Account
New users to the site will need to create an account by completing the user profile form under the ‘register here’ link on the right. Required fields are marked with an asterisk.
Registering for a Course
Under the Course Catalog tab, a course or courses may be selected for registration. Select the desired course and “register” through the link on the upper left part of the screen.
Taking a Course
Once registered, your courses will appear under the My Account link under the Enrolled tab.
To launch a course, click the 'Go' button. The course will open in a new window. Standard buttons are used in each course to help you move through the course. You may exit the course at anytime by clicking the 'Exit' button in the top right corner. Your progress in the course will automatically be bookmarked.
A certificate will be issued upon completion of the course. The certificates earned will be available to be viewed or printed in the left corner under the My Account link. You will also receive a notification via email that you have completed the course that may be forwarded to your employer or supervisor.
Reviewing a Completed Course
From MY ACCOUNT, select your course under the “COMPLETED” tab. You may review this course at any time during its eligibility period. You may also retake any test associated with that course. However, those results will not supersede the results of any previously completed course.
